==========================

Basmati rice may not appear to be all that different from other varieties of rice at first sight. However, one smell of the grain will reveal a significant difference. When cooked, basmati rice has a unique aroma that many people compare to popcorn. In fact, the term "basmati" in Hindi implies "fragrant" or "full of scent." It is known as the "queen of scented rice" in certain regions.
