Anticipatory Governance In Southern Africa - CST Webinar

On Thursday 11 November 2021, the CST Webinar series hosted a webinar on "Anticipatory Governance: Using a systems approach and strategic foresight to navigate complexity and uncertainty in Southern Africa". This webinar was offered as part of the online training on Anticipatory Governance, developed by researchers at the CST in partnership with the USAID Resilient Waters Program and hosted on the UNESCO Open Learning platform.

The online course is available from 1 November 2021 until 31 March 2022. You can receive a certificate of completion from USAID and UNESCO if you complete and pass all four modules.

In this webinar, Tanja Hichert from the CST and Dr Geci Karuri Sebina from the Wits School of Governance discussed where and how the practice of Anticipatory Governance is being applied in Southern Africa. Tanja Hichert unpacked the opportunities that Futures and Foresighting offer for anticipating and navigating uncertainty and complexity Dr Geci Karuri Sebina reflected on lessons from her work on understanding how local governments respond to emergencies.
