America’s Epidemic of Gun Violence: The State of the Science

Published
For this Grand Rounds, we’ll examine another epidemic plaguing our country: gun violence. Three experts from the front lines of treating victims will look at firearm injury prevention as a topic of medical education, hospital-based violence intervention programs, and how physicians can be leaders and the voices of moral authority about this topic.

Speakers:
Jahan Fahimi, MD, MPH is an associate professor of emergency medicine and an emergency medicine physician with a special interest in value improvement. He serves as medical director of UCSF's adult Emergency Department and as UCSF Health's medical director for value improvement.

She is also a member of the San Francisco Vision Zero Injury Prevention Research (VZIPR) Collaborative, a multidisciplinary research group focused on Vision Zero SF to eliminate traffic deaths on city streets.

Andre Campbell, MD is a professor of surgery at UCSF and attending trauma surgeon at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.
