Access to Obesity Care In the U.S., Coverage In a New Era | LIVE STREAM

Published
Obesity in America is one of the leading causes of early mortality in America and creates significant financial strain upon the U.S. Health System. Yet, despite multiple proposals to increase coverage of obesity, treatments remain largely uncovered by Medicare, Medicaid, and other public insurance programs. The lack of coverage options creates a significant access barrier for a large portion of the obese population.

AEI’s Kirsten Axelsen will host a panel of experts to discuss how obesity treatment has evolved and what that means for patients’ well-being and health systems’ finances. Additionally, they will consider reforms in information and use of technology including telehealth, destigmatizing policy, the treatment coverage environment, and reimbursement as potential options to expand successful care and treatment.
