A Simple Time Management Principle for Building Habits

One of the first productivity frameworks I give to new creators is distinguishing between the task commitment or the time commitment that you're going to focus your energy on. An example of each...

Task constraints mean you're working to a specific number, no matter how long it takes. Like running one mile or writing 500 words.

Time constraints mean you're working until time is up, no matter how much or little is done at the end. Like running or writing for 30 minutes.

A new creative habit, or any habit, is best started with a time constraint. You know when it's over and can start to track how far or how much you do in the time block. That's what I was doing in this video, trying to get it all done in an hour. Spoiler: I did not!
