2023 ECS Kaleidoscope Award for Good Governance

We celebrate our selection as the recipient of The Nonprofit Institute (NPI) 2023 KALEIDOSCOPE AWARD FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE.

This award recognizes organizations that excel in board governance, and we're honored to be acknowledged for our commitment to purpose-driven leadership. Furthermore, this award is a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication that our board and staff members put toward being a mission-centered organization focused on making a meaningful impact in our community.

Our board partners with staff to create strategic think tanks for various aspects of the organization, from financial management and development to early childhood education. In the last two years, new policies, procedures, and initiatives were implemented to empower the board as a dynamic group of professionals who volunteer their time and talent to support ECS’s mission of breaking barriers and transforming communities. A few of the critical changes include transitioning to a self-perpetuating board, diversifying to reflect the community and our clients, and strategic planning and rebranding with the staff.
