2022 Alexander D. Langmuir Lecture by Mary Bassett

During the 2022 EIS conference, Mary T. Bassett, MD, MPH, delivered the Langmuir Lecture, Undoing the Racial Patterning of Health. Dr. Bassett discussed the history of racism in public health and how racial inequity is connected to health trends in the United States. She went on to talk about the unequal burden of the COVID-19 pandemic on minority populations and shared how she has begun to unravel the effects of many years of racial inequity through her work in the New York City and New York State health departments.
