‘There’s a lot more work to be done’: Senate inquiry ‘shining light’ on Qantas’ egregious behaviour

Published
Nationals Senate Leader Bridget McKenzie says the Qantas Senate inquiry has shined new light on the “egregious behaviour of Qantas” and the issues within the aviation sector.

Ms McKenzie’s comments follow a hearing that was held last month into the Albanese government's decision to block extra Qatar Airways flights into Australia's main airports.

“We’ve had powerful evidence thus far and already gotten powerful results; you’ve seen Qantas apologise profusely and repeatedly,” Ms McKenzie told Sky News Australia.

“We’ve seen the backflip of COVID flight credits, so shining a light has actually yielded a result.

“There’s a lot more work to be done after the minister when she returns from holiday.”
