Mentorship program. AI LE. Only entering my senior year, there is a lot for me to learn about the professional financial world as well; however, teaching is the best method of learning, and I also look forward to forming a lasting connection with my mentee! I had an internship working with a financial advisor, but I learned more people skills than finance skills in that role--I also learned that it was not an area that I would ever be interested in working full-time.
The other internship I held was being a finance intern at Experian--definitely a better fit for me! There, working in a large corporate, I was able to learn a lot more technical, especially Excel, and financial skills.
As a fourth year business admin student, I have had the pleasure of getting involved with amazing campus organizations and meeting many life-long friends and mentors. Not too long ago I was navigating which fields of finance I wanted to explore, and I would love to help eager students navigate their own paths.
I hope my mentee will absorb information, build friendships, and find a support system in myself and the other mentors. Outside of work and school, I love trying different coffees, hiking at National Parks, painting, playing tennis, and traveling!
Throughout the years, I continued to stay involved, eventually becoming the Executive Vice President in my junior year. Now, as a senior, I want to give back to the finance community at UCI by mentoring anyone interested in joining the club! I hope that my mentee develops their skills and abilities enough to allow them to succeed in any area of finance that they decide to pursue in the future.
Some of my previous work experiences include working as a corporate accounting intern at a tech company and a financial analyst intern at a medical device company.
I hope my mentee is able to absorb my knowledge within the finance world as it can be foggy at times--this was something I had wanted as a first-year, and I'm glad to see it has become a reality. I've had experience interning in wealth management, investment banking, corporate finance, and at a macro fund, and I also have a solid understanding of the various careers out there. I love to hike, re-watch movies and TV shows, and play video games.
Always interested in learning new hobbies, so open to anything! Throughout my career at UCI, I have had countless mentors that helped me develop both personally and professionally - I hope my mentee can hear from all I have to say and pass it on to others! I look forward to meeting and getting to know all of you! My name is Valorie Low and I'm an incoming 3rd year Business Admin and Economics double major here at UCI : Going through college is hard enough, and trying to navigate the finance industry at the same time doesn't make it any easier- so hopefully as a mentor, I can help with that!
And after a day of feasting, I love balancing it out with some exercise! I love all types of sports running, hiking, bball , and dance on a few UCI hip hop teams too. Although the upcoming school year may be online, I'm looking forward to making more memories and most excitingly, being a UFA Mentor!
I have had many mentors throughout college, and they have been the key factor for my professional and personal development. I am hoping that my mentee can grow a better understanding of the financial services industry, as well as figure out their career path. I was the portfolio analyst intern at Wells Fargo Advisors last year conducting investment analysis on stocks, bonds, and mutual funds.
Over the summer I was a specialty banking summer analyst at City National Bank. In my free time, I enjoy reading books and watching sports.

Having spent his life dedicated to performing official duties on behalf of the Queen, the Duke holds patronage of over 30 charities and military organisations. Despite the worrying symptoms the royal went on to say that the condition has in reality helped him cope with his anxiety. Seeming unbothered about his deteriorating eyesight, it can be assumed that the Duke has taken steps to help curb the effects of his vision loss, which in most cases happens due to natural causes. Mitul Mehta, an ophthalmologist with the UCI Health Gavin Herbert Eye Institute explains that just as the body ages, eyesight will begin to change and deteriorate as individuals get older. Whilst some changes are driven by heredity, others are exacerbated by dry sunny climates. However, all are made worse by smoking. Dr Mehta goes on to list the main health conditions that may affect the eyes as we age as well as their top tips for keeping eyes healthier for longer.

Beyond pandemic-related classroom instability and virtual instruction, college and university graduates from the class of had to overcome many obstacles. This graduation season, thousands of Los Angeles-area graduates have proudly heard their names read aloud and walked the stage at commencement ceremonies that some universities have conducted for the first time since the onset of the pandemic more than two years ago. But while graduation season tends to be a hopeful time, members of the class of are marking their triumph over months or years of virtual classes, financial hardships, illness and emotional challenges and setbacks. Kelly Carland, who as UC Irvine's special events coordinator has overseen many graduations, said this year's commencement feels different. Students and faculty alike have looked toward in-person graduations with a mixture of hopefulness and anxiety that the next COVID surge or some other unforeseen event could upstage the ceremonies.

Madison Marquer was playing a show in a converted garage in Denver when he met her. That night he was on guitar for a band called Medicine Bow, earning his reputation as a magnetic performer—a blur of flailing limbs and sweaty, close-cropped hair as he tore through songs about SpongeBob SquarePants and ecological collapse. In the crowd was Katherine Landvogt, a petite and pale-skinned year-old who wore cat-eye glasses. Landvogt was a guitarist, too, though she was earning her living as a house cleaner.
