Paid Time Off. Stock Options. Resolution Sr. I worked in the Mountain View building. It it's entirety, this building held a cold and partially grimey feel. This, and the non-existent company culture are my loudest complaints. It was guessing game in the restroom to find an operating soap dispenser and faucet. The interior "break room" offers nothing more than a handful of overpriced snack machines and wobbly chairs.
CVS as a company was not kind to this location. Somewhat felt as if we were the ugly stepchildren swept under the corporate rug. For example, there are no food services offered at this location. The coffee is acidic to say the least. It's not fresh, infact it's liquid pre-packaged into a bag. There is no such thing as work culture at this location. You come in and work, and then you go home.
And work some more. Leadership leaves quite a bit to be desired. They make frequent mistakes. I've witnessed several managers behaving unprofessionally. The health plans are disappointing. Dental and vision coverages offer 0 options. You have it or you don't and even then the coverage is minimal. I have however met several very nice people in this location. Giving and kind people! There are so many lives in this building, and each is just trying to make it through the day and onto the next.
This location is just that. Humans, with jobs, trying to make ends meet. It is nothing more than that and nothing le Pros Stable work. Cons Bad healthcare, Bad dental, company culture, work environment. This is a great company to work for if you are director level or higher.
CVS likes to cull the herd seasonally and make those left pick up the pieces. All the drama and horror stories you heard are true. The disconnect and lack of essentially humanity was ridiculous.
And for a healthcare company they have horrible insurance packages. Pros Great cafeteria food options. Cons Under staffed, Terrible insurance packages offered. Disconnect between upper management and the underlinings, You will be expected to overwork with no real compensation in doing so. Cut-throat IT team. Many difficult personalities. C level management ignored input of staff after long analysis and review of best vendor to support a new need.

The hardest part of the job is getting resources to complete their tasks on schedule as they are often assigned to other project tasks and they have too many number one priorities. CVS Caremark was initially well mangaged but has gone downhill. When I started at CVS, I felt as though my contributions made a difference to the success of the company and was compensated for it. Over time that corporate culture diminished and more work was demanded of me with less reward and recognition.
Eventually, the company cut-back on resources but still demanded more work from the employees to the point of using lay-offs to reduce operating costs. Cons Rewards, benefits were gradualy reduced over time to decreasee operating costs. I contracted there for 2 and half years, and found the work environment chaotic, with frequent "process changes" that generally worsened the exploitative pressures placed on employees and contractors alike.
By pressuring workers to labor more than 40 hours per week, while concurrently persuading them to manipulate their time-card hours, it is likely that CVS may someday be prosecuted for wage theft. The ongoing computer training modules you have to do is beyond anything you can take,it's way too much to do and you get calls on your personal phone everyday about trainings you still need to do,these calls and texts are while your at work trying to work,they are after hours ,after your off the clock ,they are still calling you,texting you and they will email you constantly, and it just seems creepy and ridiculous!
